SK 04 NE WATERHOUSES C.P. CAULDON

4/170 Cottage approximately
- 30 yards south of Lytchgate
- II
House, formerly a pair of cottages. C18 with later alterations and
addition. Ashlar; plain tile roof with coped verges; brick integral
end stacks. Originally a single-cell cottage aligned east-west facing
south, later extended to the west to form a pair of single-cell cottages.
Early cottage to the right, later cottage to the left; 2 storeys, the
right hand cottage has cavetto moulded eaves and rusticated quoins; 2
bays, C20 casements within earlier surrounds; part glazed door to right
of centre with raised surround, blocked door to left of centre. The
ashlar masonry of the left hand cottage has herringbone tooling whereas
that of the right hand cottage does not.
