Four houses, including former school. Early C19. Pebbledashed
with slate roof. 2 storeys plus attic. Nos 9-13 face Back Lane
and are of one bay each. Nos 9 & 11 have adjacent doorways and
No.13 has a door to the left. The windows have plain reveals,
segmental heads, and projecting sills. The attic storeys have
similar blind recesses. No.9, at the left, has top-hung
casements imitating glazing bar sashes. No.11 has a glazing
bar sash on the ground floor and a sash on the 1st floor.
No.13 has a sash on the ground floor and a glazing bar sash on
the 1st floor. Above the doorway of No.13 is a plaque
inscribed: 'Catholic School 1824'. Chimneys on gables and
between Nos 11 & 13. Adjoining the right-hand gable wall is
No.14 which forms a rear wing to the row of houses. It has an
embattled parapet and is of 5 bays with sashed windows and
with a doorway in the 4th bay.
