Workshop, reputedly formerly quarry foreman's office. Probably
late C17, altered. Brown brick in irregular bond, with slate
roof. Access from west of No.2 (qv), but formerly from long,
narrow rear wing of No.6 (qv). 2 storeys. Narrow rectangle in
plan, standing, as seen from west and south on a tall base of
bedrock projecting into the former quarry of the cathedral.
Boarded door under cambered brick head in north end; leaded
lattice casements in timber frames, under brick labels; one to
south end and one to west side of first storey, one to south
end and one to west side of second storey.
INTERIOR: has minor C19 and possibly C17 features.
