HILLINGTON
LYNN ROAD
Forecourt wall south-east of Hillington Hall Lodge

GV
II

Quadrant walls facing South Lodge of Hillington Hall. 1824-8. By William Donthorn. Coursed carstone rubble with some Sandringham carstone and concrete coping. Part of a pair; each wall consists of a large square plinth adjacent to the road with Sandringham carstone quoins and flat stone tops. Each has remains of C15 limestone cross on top: east cross with square socket stone and lower metre of square weathered shaft; west cross similar but with trivets to the socket stone and a shorter stump of the shaft. Quadrant walls run east and west to smaller section piers, with shallow pyramid caps. Each forms part of planned entry to Hillington Hall through the lodge opposite (qv).
