of cross-wall
Powder magazine. 1828 by John Shaw. Ashlar walls and slate roof. Single
storey with swept hipped ends and parapet gutter. No fenestration, but
with wooden panelled doors in each of curved ends. Matching spur in north-
east angle between magazine and flanking wall. Downward stepped ashlar
flanking walls to either side. Designed to hold 600 barrels of gunpowder.
