Former farmhouse, now divided into 2 dwellings. C16 and C17: 2 builds. Part 2
storeys, part 2 storeys and attics. Timber-framed and rendered, with pantiled
roofs which form long catslides at the rear over later single-storey
extensions. An internal chimney-stack with large plain red brick shaft links
the 2 parts of the building: the southern half (Chalk Farm Cottage) C16, basic
2-cell end-chimney plan, the northern half (Granary Cottage) an early C17
parlour wing added to the original house. Exterior modernised: mid C20 2-light
and 3-light small-paned casement windows. Plank doors.
