GV II

Milestone. C18. Portland stone pillar inscribed "IV miles from
Saint Giles Pound". HISTORICAL NOTE: originally inscribed "V
miles from Saint Giles Pound". The inaccuracy annoyed a
resident of Pond Square enough to ask St Pancras Council to
alter it; this they failed to do so he added the "I" himself.
