Monument to John Maple, d.1900. Signed C Maile and Sons, sculptors. Marble, Portland stone, grey and pink granite. Two stage table tomb. Lower tomb chest with six bas reliefs of scenes from life of Christ set between squat pilasters. Upper stage in form of table tomb: shallow pyramidal slab carried on six colonnettes over a stone coffin with inset inscription panels. Maple was the founder of the highly successful furniture business.
