Monument to Lieutenant Albert Darasz and others, in the form of an eagle with banner emerging from tomb and raising inscribed tomb slab. c1852. Marble and Portland stone.

HISTORICAL NOTE: erected to a number of Polish nationalist exiles who fled to London following the abortive rising of 1848: the tomb is emblematic of the resurrection of the Polish nation. One of a number of monuments in the vicinity erected to Polish nationalists.
