Monument to Matthew Cotes Wyatt, d.1862. Granite obelisk on a square plinth.

HISTORICAL NOTE: Wyatt was a notable sculptor and decorative painter responsible for the Trafalgar Monument in Liverpool (1813), the monument to Princess Charlotte (d.1819) in St George's Chapel, Windsor, for work at Belvoir Castle and an equestrian statue of the Duke of Wellington formerly at Hyde Park Corner.
