Verandah attached to shops. Probably early C20; altered.
Cast-iron and glass. A 5-bay colonnade of slender cast-iron
columns with enriched bases, plain shafts and foliated
octagonal caps, small entablature with stylized rose motif,
narrow cast-iron beam pierced with stars and carrying a
moulded gutter; glass roof curved over the fourth and fifth
bays but now with angled glazing in place of the curve in the
first 3 bays.
Forms group with Nos 433-453 adjoining to the left (qv) and
with Nos 469-473 adjoining to the right (qv), and is part of
the series of verandahs which characterizes this street. Nos
459-467 not included.
