University chemistry building. 1962-65. Sir Basil Spence. Red
brick and bare, board-marked concrete. Timber windows. Flat
roofs. Courtyard plan with rotunda attached to south
containing chemistry lecture theatre, and adjoining flight of
steps. 2 storeys and basement. Horizontal windows with deep
concrete lintels. Projecting buttresses between bays, topped
by projecting concrete beam ends. Deep concrete parapet.
