House now flats and attached railings. c1832, with later
additions and alterations including mid-C20 attic dormers.
Reddish-brown brick with painted stucco front facade and
concealed roof, cast-iron balcony, verandah and railings.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys with basement and attic, 2 first-floor
windows. Horizontal rustication to ground floor.
Entrance: 3 roll-edged steps to part-glazed door between
pilaster strips and sidelights, cornice, elliptical overlight.
Distyle porch with engaged Tuscan pilasters and Egyptian
columns, double frieze, cornice. Tripartite window: 2/2
between 1/1 sashes, blind box.
First floor has two 2/2 sashes; second floor has two 2/2
sashes all in plain reveals and with sills. Basement has
part-glazed, board door. 2/2 sash, plain reveals, sill.
Frieze, cornice, blocking course. End stacks. First floor has
continuous balcony above porch and verandah with ornamental
scroll motif.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: lancet area railings and to sides of
porch with gate to basement.
HISTORICAL NOTE: Dale Street was laid out c1832, the east side
built by 1834.
