GV II

Moated farmhouse, now house. C17 with C18 and C19 additions
and alterations, with restorations c1980s. Cross-wing to north
(right) has small square panels of timber-framing with plaster
and brick infill, otherwise reddish-brown brick, gabled
plain-tile roofs. Irregular L-shaped range to left (south),
joining range with extension at rear and cross wing at north.
EXTERIOR: 2-storey and attic; 2-bay range to left. 2-storey
cross-wing to right (gable end to front). Single-storey range
with attic between.
Centre range with C20 glazed French windows, otherwise with
panels of C20 glazing; to left a full-height staircase window
with 2-light casements under elliptical arch. First floor has
(from left) 4-course first-floor band, 2-light C20 casement
under elliptical arch; centre range has roof dormer with C20
casement.
Cross wing has no openings to front.
Range to left has dentil eaves (continuing around the range)
and gable on kneelers above staircase window, this range has
roof dormer to return under hipped roof. Front, rear and ridge
stacks.
Rear: windows throughout are C20 casements, many under
elliptical arches.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
Forms a group with The Yarnolds (qv).
