Farmhouse. C16 and C17 with later additions and alterations
including C19 rebuilding to right gable-end wall.
Close-studded and small timber-framing with arched braces and
reddish-brown and painted brick nogging, with brick facade to
right and plain-tile roofs. 3-unit plan with cross-wing.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys; 4 first-floor windows arranged 2:2:1:1.
Gabled 2-storey porch to angle between main range and
projecting wing, part-glazed 4-panel door within. 2- and
3-light casements throughout, some with external latches.
Ridge stack with 4 diagonal shafts and internal stack to left.
INTERIOR: extensive timber-framing. Chamfered beams to most
rooms with run-out and ogee stops, to main (right) room the
beam has bolection moulding; exposed joists. 2 inglenook
fireplaces back to back have bressumer beams with
roll-moulding and run-out stops. Some 8-panel doors.
