Barn. Probably early C17 with late C18 or early C19
alterations. Timber-frame with weatherboarding above late
C18/C19 brick infill, on blue lias rubble plinth; tile roof.
L-plan.
EXTERIOR: 3-bay structure with central threshing floor and
square framing with tension braces; 3-bay cow house projects
to left of threshing floor. Barn entrance has paired C20 doors
with strap hinges. Gabled roof.
Cow house has brick front to right return with blue brick
quoins suggesting wide entrance, end and left return walls
timber-framed, left return with attached C20 open-fronted
shed. Rear has barn doors.
INTERIOR: of barn: tie beam trusses with diagonal struts,
double purlins with wind braces; 2 inserted C20 trusses with
passing braces. Flagged threshing floor.
Cow house: 3 tie beam trusses with struts, one next to barn
wall.
Burton Farmhouse is not included.
