Former railway goods shed, now commercial premises in multiple
occupancy. c1870. Draycott stone rubble, with Bath stone
ashlar dressings, Bridgwater triple-angle clay tiled roof,
with plain gables, roof overhung on east side over two main
archways.
EXTERIOR: single storey, 5 bays. East side has 4-centre-arched
windows with ashlar surrounds including imposts to bays 1 and
5, and matching doorway bay 3, large 4-centre arches bays 2
and 4. South gable has two large arches, over blind, the west
presumably over the former railway track.
West side has 4 windows and central door. North side has the
track arch on west side, and small one-storey extension on
north east corner, matching.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
A good example of Great Western Railway architecture, on the
former Bristol and Exeter Railway line between Yatton and
Wells, opened April 5th 1870, serving Wells Tucker Street
Station, one of three stations in the city in the C19.
