2 houses. Late C16 with C18 extension and C19 remodelling.
Painted timber-frame on plinth. Brick and concrete-block
alterations. Plain-tile roof. Central C19 brick ridge stack
with brick rear eaves stack and projecting brick gable-end
stack.
EXTERIOR: 4-window range with C18 timber-framed end-bay
extension now centrally divided into 2 dwellings. 2 storeys. 4
2-storey C19 timber-framed oriel windows with framed panels at
storey division, set on moulded brackets and moulded sill, and
with cornice below gabled semi-dormer roof. Oriels have
pilasters flanking plain C20 casements to No.16 to the right
and C19 iron lattice casements to No.17 to the left. Central
C19 lean-to entrance lobby extension incorporating pair of C19
panelled doors with ornamental frame and head. Square framing
4 panels high with brace and tension brace to No.17. Right
return side: gable-end rebuilt in C20 concrete block with C20
casements. Left return side: gable-end rebuilt in brick. Rear:
2 semi-dormer windows and various casements and plain boarded
doors. Windows to No.17 to right with iron lattice lights
whilst those to No.16 on the left are plain. Square framing 4
panels high partly masked by C20 lean-to extensions.
INTERIOR: original chamfered bridging beams in No.16. No.17
not inspected.
