GV II

Railings, piers and gates. c1864 by WH Knight. Cast-iron
railings with fleur-de-lys capping. Square section ashlar gate
piers broached for drum and cone capping surmounted by cross.
Enriched iron double gates. Pedestrian gate at left and
enriched railings to either side with scroll and spike heads
(for approx 9m to right and approx 15m at left).
HISTORICAL NOTE: Knight won the competition for the cemetery
in 1862.
