Pair of houses. Numbered right to left, described left to
right. c1820. Ashlar over brick with hipped slate roof and
stucco party-wall stack; wrought-iron balconies. Double-depth
plan, that to right with full-height service range to rear.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys, 6 first-floor windows (3:3), and
extension to rear at right. First- and second-floor bands;
crowning frieze and cornice with blocking course. Mainly 6/6
sashes, those to first floor are taller. Basement has 4/8 and
2/2 sashes. All windows in plain reveals and with sills. End
entrances, flights of roll-edged steps to 6-panel doors with
side-lights and wide fanlights with batwing and circle glazing
bars; porches with Ionic pilasters with architrave, frieze and
cornice. Rear: mainly 6/6 sashes; No.101 has round-arched 9/6
staircase sash.
INTERIOR: noted as retain original joinery including panelled
shutters, otherwise not inspected.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: continuous first-floor balcony has
embellished rods with lattice frieze and central scroll panel;
balcony divider has embellished rods and scrolled overthrow.
