Group of four houses. 1865. Stuccoed brick. Slate hipped roofs behind parapets with moulded cornices. Rendered brick side stacks.
PLAN: Closely spaced group of four identical villas, each with two rooms and a verandah at the front and a doorway on the right side to a stairhall behind.
Regency style.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys. 2-bay south fronts. Each house has a verandah on the ground floor with ornate cast-iron openwork piers supporting an ogee-profile canopy and a tripartite sash on the left and canted bay on the right with French casements and panelled shutters; two 4-pane sashes on the first floor with ogee-profile canopies on ornate cast-iron brackets, the zinc-clad canopies of No.8 replaced in lead. Panelled doors at the sides within glazed porches.
INTERIORS: Simple marble chimneypieces. Moulded plaster ceiling borders and cornices. Original joinery including panelled doors and dog-leg cut-string staircases with stick balusters, turned newels and mahogany handrails.
An interesting example of a mid Victorian group of stuccoed villas in the Regency style.
