Pair of houses. Numbered right to left, described left to
right. c1750 with C17 origins and later additions and
alterations including C20 roof dormers. Pinkish-brown brick in
Flemish bond with ashlar quoins; plain tile roof where
original (at left) and roof in two heights; rear end brick
stacks with oversailing courses and pots. 2 storeys plus
attics, 2 + 2 first-floor windows. Ground and first floors
have 6/6 sashes in near flush frames with flat arches of
gauged brick, fluted keystones ith cornices, and sills.
Modillion eaves band at left. Pair of central entrances: 2
steps to 6-panel doors (alike), the upper panels raised and
fielded, the lower panels flush beaded, fanlights; within
shared doorcase with ovolo mould to pilasters and rosettes to
cornices, and hood. 3 box roof dormers.
INTERIOR: No.12 noted as retaining closed string staircase
with heavy turned balusters and square newels with capping.

Nos 2-16 (consecutive) Edgar Street (qqv) form a significant
group, together with Nos 28-34 (even) Sidbury; No.12 College
Precincts; Tower House, No.1 Severn Street; and Edgar Tower,
College Green (qqv). Edgar Street (in which all the buildings
are listed) is a fine example of a Georgian street and it
forms part of the setting for the Cathedral (qv).
