Hall house, now house. Late C15, re-faced, re-roofed and
extended C17, altered late C20.
MATERIALS: timber frame partly encased in brick in Flemish
bond with dark headers. Old tile gabled roof.
PLAN: L-plan of 2 x 2 framed bays, extended at side and rear.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys with platband on front and similar band at
foot of gable with brick pilaster strips under. 2 chimneys
with corniced heads and clay pots. C17 and C18 leaded casement
windows with segmental arched heads. Road front, north, single
bay gable projecting on right with 3-light windows, one other
blocked opening on ground floor small blocked opening in apex.
2-bay section with 2-light windows and half-glazed entrance
door. Late C18 lean-to extension on right of gable.
INTERIOR: much of timber frame exposed with wide plain joists
over ground floor. Jowled posts and wide arched braces from
posts to roof tie. Queen post roof with clasped purlins. Large
inserted brick chimney with beam over, early C19 cast iron
fire grate on first floor. Windows and door in front have
folding panelled shutters.
