Toll bridge. 1872. by Hickes and Isaac.
MATERIALS: Limestone ashlar.
EXTERIOR: Eight pointed arches, two to left and three to right over riverbanks smaller, three larger ones to left of centre span River Avon. Both groups of smaller arches flanked by narrow, deep offset buttresses with pitched tops. Central arch flanked by buttresses gabled to each facet. Outer sides of coped parapets have recessed circular panels around pierced trefoils, inner facades without panels. A romantically designed but commercially underpinned toll bridge, clearly medieval in inspiration, spanning the northern reaches of the Avon.
