Description

Philip Webb, dated 1864; severely damaged by fire, 20th
April, 1981. Long rubble single storey and attic
steading/stable range, with short arm projecting south at SE
forming overall L-plan; flat arched entrance passes to court
fronting steading through projecting wing. All rubble
with tooled rubble dressings.
Tall, narrow wast and west gables with ground and loft
windows, the loft windows in each gable recessed under
flatttened ogee heads. Multi-pane glazing to some windows.
Wide sweeping roof line, supported internally by continuous
long centre spine wall, covered with green coated metal
roofing material (replacing former slate roof destroyed by
fire); some slating survives on south wing. Corniced
ridge stack.
