Description

Early to earlier 19th century. 2-chamber lectern
dovecot. Random rubble, formerly harled, with droved
ashlar dressings, string course to gables. Doorway to S.
Crowstepped skews; corrugated iron roof, swept with
flight-hole now at mid-point of pitch. Originally both
chambers linked with nesting boxes; W chamber converted
house acetylene gas plant for powering Belton House. E
chamber contains 560 nest boxes.

Belton house now demolished but Lodge and Gardiner's

House listed separately.
