Description

18th century. Tall circular windmill converted to dovecot;
harled. Upper portion narrow in 2 stages with rat courses to
centre apex flight hole; stands on mound; blocked entrance in
E; 2 small mural: flight holes.
INTERIOR: lined with stone nesting boxes; potence (revolving
ladder) survives.

Statement of Interest

All entrances sealed. Dovecot stands on mound, within which

is vaulted undercroft.

Mentioned in 1751 Gordon v Brodie lawsuit over building of new

dovecot.

Restored, 1986.
