Description

CROSS: plain stone shaft, probably of medieval date, tapering
vestiges of chamfering and stops at apex, surmounted by later
iron cross. Mounted on 3-stepped stone plinth.
BURIAL GROUND: walled enclosure on site of early medieval
Kineddar Church, of which no trace remains. Walls, A and W
Reid, 1853.

Statement of Interest

Kineddar ante-dates Spynie Church and Palace (13th century)

as site of Bishopric of Moray.
