Description

Circa 1816, castle-style reflecting lighthouse, whin
rubble with ashlar dressings and long and short quoins.
Single storey, rectangular block; broad, clasping angle
projections have corbelled and castellated parapets, doors
set into the wider projections and centrally on the long
sides, narrow slits for ventilation. Parapet and flat roof.

Store flanked by 2 pairs of cottages brick-built, 1883-4).

To SW rubble-built engine house at head of small man-made

loch. Compressed air piped from engine house for N and S

horns.
