Description

Farmhouse and steading build mostly in 1st half of 19th
century, fragment of St Bride's tower incorporated at SE end
of steading court. All rubble-built with ashlar dressings,
house now dry-dashed, with painted margins. Roofs covered
mainly with graded slates.
House: 2 storeys, 4 (1+3) bays, northmost bay not original,
door central in modern porch; mostly sash windows with
6-paned glazing retained in top sashes only. Straight skews;
end stacks; rear wing.
Steading: plain whitewashed ranges about open court; tall S
and W ranges have some blocked openings; low E range has long
roof ventilator.
Tower: (adjoining E gable of S range) much altered and in
poor condition; upper part of E wall looks rebuilt, part of
corbel course survives; wall facing courtyard has 2-storey
elevation with big slappings and may be rebuilt. Garden wall
contains re-used stones.
