Description

Gatepiers perhaps by Sir Robert Smirke, circa 1815, but set in present position early 20th century. 7 piers, set back from main road, curved long quadrants with 2 further piers at terminals. All built of pink ashlar. Square piers, inner 2 piers massive, all with flat pyramidal projecting caps; stugged ashlar quadrants with moulded cope. Wooden gates not original.
