Description

Peter McGregor Chalmers, architect, 1911. Cruciform church
with tall tower to W gable, 4-window side aisle to N.
Bull-faced granite walling, polished red sandstone margins.
Round-arched single windows with plain dressings. Slate
roofs. 3-stage square tower, louvred openings to 3rd stage,
facetted roof.
Interior: Romanesque detailing with 2-arch arcade separating
transepts at crossing; 4-arch arcade separating side aisle
from nave. Open braced collar-beam roof supported on corbels.
Organ to S transept. 3 stained glass windows all circa 1925.
Signed MCMK.
Churchyard: Rubble walled burial enclosure mostly
19th/20th-century stones, some 18th century stones.
