Description

Row of 6 mid 19th century single storey and attic, east facing,
3-bay cottages. All rubble with tooled rubble dressings. Each
with centre door, piended dormers in outer bays, mainly 4-pane
glazing; coped end stacks; slate roofs.
No 1. former additional door in right bay now as window.
No 3 (Smiddy Cottage) former smiddy to rear converted to extra
dwelling space, (J. & W. Wittet, 1953).

Statement of Interest

Formerly Fairness. Interesting group of estate cottages

belonging to Glenferness Estate. The row previously included a contemporary cottage at No 7 which was replaced with a modern dwelling after 1988.
