Description

Mid-later 18th century with later additions; all harled
with contrasting painted tooled margins. Original house
with 2-storey, 3-bay west facing facade with gabled centre
bay with apex stack; symmetrical fenestration, small
windows, 1 slightly enlarged in right ground floor bay.
Entrance at rear, now masked by later kitchen extension.
2-storey, 2-bay wing to south gable, with further entrance
in right bay masked by gabled rubble porch. Mainly
12-pane glazing; all gables crowstepped; paired coped
diagonal stacks on broad bases; slate roofs.

Statement of Interest

1 window pane in ground floor of south wing dated Oct.

1850. Lobby cupboard in kitchen extension has small portion

of re-used mid 18th century panelling. Appears as

Achintoul Inn on 1st edition OS, 1872.
