Description

Early 18th century, 2-storey, 5-bay threshing/storage barn,
with mid 19th century alterations. Harled rubble, ashlar
dressings and margins, boulder footings. Originally with
paired chamfered winnowing doors in outer bays, now blocked
in both elevations at south end. 5 small loft vents in 1st
floor, both elevations (some blocked). Later slit vents in
ground floor; later louvred vent in south gable. Cavetto
skewputts; crowsteps; slate roof. Interior: doubled collared
rafter roof; ashlar posts and sole pieces at wallhead mostly
masked by later beamfilling. Mid-later 19th century
crowstepped gighouse at north gable, with centre round-headed
arched entrance. Harl pointed rubble, tooled ashlar margins;
slate roof.
Mid-later 19th century byre range at south gable; harl
pointed rubble; louvred slate roof.
