Description

Matthew and Lawrie, 1872, with later additions and alterations. Single storey and attic quadrangular steading, now 3 sides remaining, W range demolished and replaced with cattle pens.

Mixed rubble with tooled ashlar dressings. Slightly advanced centre bay rises as square 3-storey tower with battered base, chamfered angles, and centre round-headed entrance leading to inner court. Double-leaf plank door; keystoned round-headed bipartite in 1st floor; clock in 2nd floor above stepped string course. 8 bays either side, with round-headed keystoned arches in centre and outer bays, the former leading to inner court and latter a carriage house (E); filled with window (W).

4-pane glazing; coped end and ridge stacks; slate roofs.

INTERIOR: Tack room, later milking parlour and grain loft still in existence.
