Description

Mid 19th century. U-plan stables and cottages, W facing
single storey range with 2-storey projecting wings. Harled,
ashlar margins, some painted. Mirror entrances to dwellings
in outer wings facing courtyard, linked by (?later) canopied
roof supported by slender cast-iron column. W gables with
single ground floor bipartite and pointed headed 1st floor
window. Lunette stable windows in S elevation; rear loft
entrance breaks wallhead. 4-pane glazing. Wallhead stacks;
slate roofs.

Statement of Interest

Schemes for stables by T MacKenzie 1847 and A Ross 1878, do

not appear to have been executed.
