Description

Farmhouse dated 1862; courtyard steading to rear (NE). All
roofs slated.
HOUSE: L-plan, incorporating earlier fabric; 2 storeys, 3
bays, advanced gable left, doorway (panelled door with
fanlight) central; red ashlar with long and short worked
dressings, hood-moulded openings, windows (single and
bipartite) all sashes with lying-panes. Blocked eaves; skews
run horizontally over angles, end stacks (1 rebuilt in
brick). Elevation to courtyard is rubble-built.
STEADING: several building dates, mid 18th-19th century.
L-plan block, with range to roadside adjoining house NW
flank, built mainly of red sandstone, loft (to court)
contained below eaves; ?18th century free-standing long tall
barn to SE of house built of brick and on stone footings.
