Description

Z-plan block, ranges of several building dates, mainly 18th

and 19th centuries. 2 2-storey 3-bay houses to roadside

sharing common roof level and both rendered as ashlar, that

nearest E containing shop; early 19th century 2-storey,

3-bay house at NE end of block (Five Bells) is harled with

ashlar margins. Inner part of block is E-facing and contains piend-roofed 2-storey 3-bay range nearest S, converted mid

18th century barn adjoining, now a house (The Cottage), with

exposed stonework, blocked large depressed-arch barn door,

1st floor windows with raised gabled dormer heads. End

stacks; slate roofs.
