Description

Circa 1800. Pair of Classical ashlar, corniced gatepiers,
flanking drive, with round arched pedestrian gateways;
blank tablets with guttae above arches. Gentle, coped
ashlar quadrant walls adjoined. Square ashlar outer
piers, corniced and with niches to roadside. Decorative
wrought-iron arrowhead gates and railings to drive,
gateways and quadrants. Substantial sandstone rubble,
harl-pointed policy walls to former bounds of Newhailes
estate.
