Description

1890, Sir John Burnet of Burnet Son and Campbell. Single storey, local coursed rubble with buff ashlar dressings and plinth zone. Main part symmetrical, S front with projecting gabled porch with corbelled masonry hood over door, shield panel at tympanum; 2-light windows right and left, plain architraves with moulded arrises. 3-light semi-circular bows to each return (side) elevation; broad eaved low-pitched slated roof; single bay section at rear since enlarged, chimneys removed; modern small-paned glazing.

Statement of Interest

The former lodge to an earlier house (demolished) was located on the opposite side of the drive to the S (shown on OS 1st edition map).
