Description

Henry E Clifford, 1908. Creetown granite quadrant walls in Cyclopean pattern with rounded coping. Pair of square, coped granite gatepiers. Decorative timber gate. Cast- and wrought-iron railings with arrowhead groups.

Statement of Interest

The gate to Shennanton House (listed above), is included as a separate item in consideration of its distant siting from the house, by an earlier lodge (not included in current listings). The Cyclopean masonry was favoured by Clifford and the quadrants here echo the stonework of the house. Mark of Shannanton Steading is listed separately above.
