Description

Later 19th century 2-storey villa, snecked whinstone rubble with stucco dressings. Asymmetric, 3-bay, with central entrance. Porch with round arch to front, stilted to left, in angle between advanced right bay and main body. Porch has round arch on front, stilted to side, supported on Corinthian columns, engaged at right and rear. Frieze, cornice and blocking course with semicircular feature in centre. Doorcase round arched. Small round-headed window above door. To left centred bay at ground, upper part treated as entablature of porch. Three-light window at first, breaking eaves with gablet above. Lights round-headed, centre taller than flanks, with broad margins. Projecting gabled bay at right has similar ground floor canted bay, single round-headed window at first. Windows 2-pane sash and case. Stucco quoins. Base course. Roof low-pitched, slated, with promenent eaves. Chimney stacks on gable ends, cast-iron finials on left and right bays. Interior has good plasterwork and original grained and gilded doors.
