Square rubble walled burial enclosure, probably incorporating
fragments of earlier church; polished ashlar margins and
moulded cope. Centre entrance in W face closed by spearhead
cast-iron gate. Recessed pointed-headed mural tomb with
effigy of medieval recumbant knight; 2 mural panels (probably
re-set grave-slabs) dated 1580 and 1612.
1612 grave slab commemorates Sir Alexander Innes of Coxton,
died 6 October 1612. Effigy, representing a member of the
Innes family, is a rare survival.
