Description

Late 19th century. Single storey and attic, 3-bay, T-plan cottage. Harled, with ashlar dressings. Door to centre with letterbox fanlight. Canted bays flanking at ground with billet moulding, 2 canted, piend-roofed, slate-hung dormers above to attic also with billet moulding. Sash and case windows with 4-pane glazing pattern. Grey slates, ashlar coped skews with moulded skewputts, coped ashlar stacks with decorative cans; thackstanes. Low ashlar coped rubble retaining wall with decorative, cast-iron railings and gate.

Statement of Interest

Happy survival of traditional form, complete with railings. Similar in style to Laurelbank, Kinnairdy Lodge and Gowanlea, also in South Street (listed separately, B group).
