Description

1896-7, plan by John L Murray, Architect, Biggar, elevations

John Keppie, draughtsman probably C R Mackintosh; 2-storey, 3-bay red standstone villa, with single storey service wing stable court to rear. Snecked bull-faced coursers, polished ashlar dressings, platform slate roof, piended to service wing. Sash and case windows, 2-pane to bottom, 8-pane to top; canted windows with stepped parapets and ball-finials to front, corniced to side. Dentilled eaves course; cast-iron rainwater goods with large moulded hoppers;

4 corniced stacks at platforms of piend and platform roof.

FRONT ELEVATION: 2-leaf panelled door to centre with marbled and banded doorcase, Doric columned open pediment, canted windows to left and right, 3 windows to 1st floor.

RIGHT RETURN ELEVATION: single and canted window to ground floor right, 2 windows to 1st floor.
