Description

A B Crombie, 1889. Free renaissance, red ashlar, single-

storey and railed basement. 3-bay front, arched doorpiece

set in concave-splayed recesses and fronted by Ionic columns

bearing shaped and pedimented head with masonic roundel

supported by figures with swags. Flanking bays have recessed double-arched windows with baluster centre shafts; vermiculated

aprons and channelled pilasters; swagged frieze; balustraded

parapet, slated and finialled pavilion roof. Door surround

and swagged frieze are of terra-cotta.

Foundation stone laid 23.11.1889.
