Description

Built 1828. Greek revival villa. Rectangular-plan; 2
storeys and attic over basement, and with near identical
3-bay E and W elevations, each with central Greek doric
porch. Polished red ashlar (stone-cleaned 1985) and
architraves; single storey single bay addition on S flank.
Corniced ground floor windows, consoled at W. Base course;
string at 1st floor cill level; railed basement area to E,
flight to steps to W door; continuous main cornice; modern
dormers; 2 pairs symmetrically placed stacks; piended and
platformed slated and leaded roof.
Addition is W-facing, recessed, and continues details of
house; flat roof concealed by parapet; modern fire-escape
to E.
Interior: substantially altered but some cornice detail
survives.
