Description

Mid 19th century. Pair terraced 2-storey 2-bay houses with
cast-iron railed basements. Droved red ashlar, polished
margins, rusticated quoins. Houses both have main doorway at
left, recessed doors, No 46 (left) with decorative fanlight
retained and with plate glass sash windows.
Modernised house to right has shop at ground (No 42), canopy
under timber fascia; small, modern 1st floor window balconies;
single piended, canted dormer. Eaves/lintel band; cornice;
blocking course; straight skews; end stacks; slate roofs;
flanks and rear built of brick; brick rear garden wall with
blind arcading.
