Description

Early 19th century. Rubble; flat-rounded cope. 2 gate-posts
at N. end. Pointed arch at S. end. Uncompleted.

Statement of Interest

Built by James Ewing to enclose his Castle House estate but

not completed around Castle Hill because of the opposition of

the villagers in August 1835. An important feature of the

High Kirk - Castle House precinct.
